History is important to Grundy Center residents.  The community was founded in 1877. It has served as the focal point of Iowa agriculture, with seed corn and soybean production that lead the nation. The small downtown and historic ambiance is a picturesque background for the everyday activities that occupy residents – work, play, education, recreation, and worship.
