Grundy Center Chamber-Main Street and Chapter AR P.E.O. invite you to join them for the “Historic Homes of Grundy Center Tour“ on Thursday, May 30, 2019 from 4:30-6:30 pm. This event is an effort to celebrate Grundy Center’s rich architectural heritage with tours of four beautiful homes, in conjunction with National Historic Preservation Month. The homes on this year’s tour include the Rizner home (1002 7th St.) the Dolmage home (801 12th St), the Graham home (805 7th St), and the Freese home (701 9th St). Grundy Center Historical Society Museum (610 7th St) will serve as the Reception Center and will be open from 4-7 pm. Parking is available at the Community Center parking lot. Tour attendees can check in at the Reception Center and enjoy a complimentary snack and beverage before or after their tour. A trolley, staffed with volunteers to answer questions and offer commentary, is available to transport visitors from one site to another. Visitors at each home will be greeted by knowledgeable volunteers who will provide historical facts and interesting stories about the home. Tickets are needed for the walking tour and go on sale May 1st. A limited number of tickets are being sold, and are available from Grundy Center City Hall and online from www.GrundyCenterCMS.org. Tickets are $5 and proceeds will benefit both P.E.O. and Chamber-Main Street efforts on behalf of the community. This tour is recommended for those 12 years and older. There is no food, drink or photography allowed in any home. Grundy Center Chamber-Main Street is a non-profit development group whose mission is to invests in the community through connections that strengthen business and economic vitality; preserve the history of the community’s Main Street District; and promote Grundy Center as a desirable place to live, shop, work and play. The AR Chapter of P.E.O. is a philanthropic organization where women CELEBRATE the advancement of women; EDUCATE women through scholarships, grants, awards, loans, and stewardship of Cottey College and MOTIVATE women to achieve their highest aspirations.
